VERSATILE
HiFU uses an ultrasonic transducer similar to those used for diagnostic imaging, but with much higher energy. The transducer focuses sound waves at a point in the body to generate heat and destroy the target tissue. The tissue can reach temperatures of 65°C in 20 seconds.
